THE OPPORTUNITY AT HAND
One of our Surgical Centers, Valley Eye, is seeing a dynamic Director of Nursing to join our team. This is an opportunity to work closely with the executive director and medical director to ensure the center functions in a coordinated and organized manner and provides quality care and service to our patients. You will manage multiple aspects of the center, from overseeing the daily schedule and assignments, to managing all HR related activities. It will be your responsibility to oversee the flow of the schedule in preop, recovery, and operating rooms, while overseeing the maintenance and adherence to surgical preferences of the staff. You will also collaborate with our Director of Nursing Administration, and act as her backup in her absence.
OUR EXPECTATIONS OF YOU
You’ll maintain our adherence to federal, state, and accreditation requirements and standards You’ll maintain our exceptional standards of infection control practices, and ensure our staff does the same (including taking appropriate action regarding suspected or actual infections) Report and analyze data required for mandatory state reporting Manage quality assurance and related activities You’ll work closely with the materials manager and the sterile processing department, ensuring we’re always evaluating our instruments, our costs, and our commitment to patient safety You’ll manage the orientation and education of staff and maintain their educational records You’ll mange vendor relationships and make recommendations when needed You’ll serve as a member of established committees of the center and participate in related activities, while also serving as the backup safety officer Participate in the development, implementation and management of policies and procedure
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
You must be a licensed and professional nurse in this state BSN or BS in a healthcare related field required BLS certification and ACLS certifications required Knowledge of AAAHC, federal and state requirements for Ambulatory Surgi-Centers Prior healthcare management experience Experience is perioperative nursing a plus Must have knowledge of admitting and discharging of patients CNOR and ASORN preferred Ophthalmology and ASC experience are a huge plus but are not required for this role
