ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF NURSING

(ADON)

Full Time, Days Job Summary:

Assists in the preparation of awork schedule for all nursing personnel. Visits patients to insuremaximum care and communicates with staff and physicians about dailynursing operations. Assures the best patient care possible bysupervising and directing nursing personnel. Serves as a liaisonfor staff nursing and nurse management. Monitors the QualityAssurance Program of the facility. Assigns duties to professionalnurses and non-professional nursing personnel and supervises andevaluates work performance. Supervises the accuracy and maintenanceof all nursing records and medical treatments. Acts as InfectionControl Nurse for facility. Monitors decubiti weekly and reviewsmonthly decubiti report. Handles disciplinary problems involvingthe nursing personnel in the facility. Performs other duties asassigned.

Job Requirements:

Registered Nurse with a current andvalid RN license in North Carolina. Two (2) years of experience;prefer at least one (1) year experience in skilled nursing. Willingto be ‘on call’ per rotation basis for Facility. Genuine interestin geriatric nursing. Ability to make decisions regarding nursingand unit problems. Ability to supervise nursing staff, assuringthat work assignments are completed appropriately and timely. Mustread, know, and follow personnel, department and facilityprocedures, and adhere to local, state, and federal requirements.
