The Assistant Director of Rehabilitation Services assists theDirector of Rehabilitation Services (DOR) in directing the threerehab departments of physical, occupational, and speech therapy toensure the highest quality rehab services in accordance with allapplicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements:
  • Active license in physical (BSPT, MSPT, DPT, or PTA),occupational (BSOT, MSOT, COTA) therapy and meet the educationalrequirements as defined in the job description for that licensetype
  • Currently registered/licensed with applicable State. Mustmaintain an active license in good standing throughoutemployment.
  • Supervisory experience in post acute care or related settingpreferred
  • CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation.

CPRcertification must remain current during employment.

Specific Job Requirements:
  • Liaisons with patients, families, support departments, etc. toadequately plan for patient needs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e mail
  • Exercise good body mechanics at all times
  • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant suchaction
  • Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws,regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acutecare facility
  • Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives,policies, and procedures of the department
  • Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but notlimited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
  • Maintains professional working relationships with all associates,vendors, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidentialinformation
  • Understand and follow company policies including harassment andcompliance procedures
  • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’sCode of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and otherappropriate compliance training
Essential Functions:
  • Fulfill core competencies of licensed position and provideclinical oversight within discipline and in accordance with rehabpractice standards
  • Recruit, select, hire, evaluate, train, counsel, and superviserehab staff
  • Direct the growth, development, and maintenance of rehabprograms
  • Function as staff therapist as caseload requires
  • Maintain appropriate staffing patterns as clinicallyindicated
  • Utilize therapy software appropriately and accurately
  • Assume the duties of the DOR in his or her absence
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitudetowards patients
  • Assist in the evacuation of patients
  • Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
  • Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
  • Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinaryteam
  • Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and moveintermittently during working hours
