Description:
Produces recordings of electromotive variations in a patient’s heart muscle using an electrocardiogram (EKG) to provide data for the diagnosis of heart ailments. Performs signal averaged EKG’s and attaches halter monitor electrodes. Keys information into a computer system, marks tracings to indicate positions of chest electrodes and transcribes physician’s comments onto the tracings. Files or delivers electrocardiograms of current patients. Explains procedures to patients and answers their questions. Replenishes supplies, maintains equipment, and reports any equipment malfunctions. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma or equivalent. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
