Supervisor EKG Technicians 3.2 3.2 out of 5 stars 4801 Ambassador Caffery Parkway, Lafayette, LA 70508 The Supervisor EKG Technician is responsible for overseeing daily staffing operations within the department, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, and supporting the orientation and training of new team members as a department preceptor. This role acts as a key resource, providing guidance to telemetry technicians to improve rhythm interpretation accuracy and offering on-the-job training as needed. Additionally, the lead ekg technician assumes the “runner” role, ensuring the timely retrieval and terminal cleaning of discontinued telemetry boxes. The lead ekg technician is also responsible for checking, updating, and transmitting EKG machines, ensuring accurate patient EKG charges, and assisting with the maintenance of department equipment and supplies. In this position, the lead ekg technician coordinates with biomedical or manufacturer teams for repairs on Spacelabs monitors, portable EKG machines, and remote telemetry boxes. The lead ekg technician relays reports on missing telemetry boxes and addresses any performance or technical concerns to the department director or supervisor. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Management of Daily Staffing. Ensures department policies and procedures are being followed. Department preceptor/assists in orientation of new team members. Acts as a resource to offer guidance to telemetry technicians for more accurate rhythm interpretation and provide on-the-job training as needed. Assumes the role of the “runner” for the department (outpatient EKGs after hours), retrieving used discontinued telemetry boxes and terminally cleaning them. Checks and updates/transmits all EKG machines 2-3x during their shift. Ensures correct patient EKG charges. Assists with maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Initiates biomed and/or manufacturer repair of Spacelabs monitors, portable EKG machine, and remote telemetry boxes. Relays missing box reports to department director of where box was lost. Reports any team member performance or technical issues to department director/supervisor. All other duties as assigned.
