Description:

Under the supervision of the EKG/EEG/ECHOSupervisor and following established technical standards, thisposition provides ultrasound images of the heart and relatedstructures of patients of all ages for physician interpretation.

The Echocardiographer must demonstrate knowledge of the principlesof growth and development over the lifespan. The candidate shouldbe capable of gathering and assessing information relevant to thepatient’s age-specific needs. Providing care needed to achieve thedesired clinical outcomes is essential. The Echocardiographer mustbe able to understand and modify the therapeutic approach inresponse to the patient’s nonverbal reactions to therapy,psychosocial needs, physical limitations, and any other age orillness-specific issues is critical.
