POSITION SUMMARY
Performs sonographic procedures toassist in the diagnosis of medical conditions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of aspecialized training program in Ultrasonic Technology or on-the-jobtraining with a registered sonographer preferred.
Experience:
Oneyear of experience performing ultrasound procedures in a hospital,clinic or physician s office preferred.
Knowledge, Skills,Abilities:
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy andphysiology. Knowledge of ultrasound equipment and procedures,protocols and safety hazards common to administering ultrasoundsincluding equipment, body mechanics and patient movement. Knowledgeof physician office procedures, ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
Skill in conducting equipment operation training to co-workers.
Ability to operate a computer and access applicable programs.
Ability to speak clearly and communicate effectively and to read,understand and follow written and verbal instructions andprocedures. Ability to identify and troubleshoot equipment problemsand perform simple adjustments. Skill in the production andcommunication of sonograms.
License/Certification/Registration:
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or registryeligible for cardiac sonography; Meets the American HeartAssociation s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support(BLS) and renews BLS every two years. Position Billing string =
