Job Description SummaryThe Medical University of South Carolina(MUSC) Hospital’s Clinical Neurophysiology Department (CNPS) offersa wide selection of neurological diagnostic tests, including EEG,EMG, IONM, and Neurovascular Ultrasound. MUSC is a Level 4Comprehensive Epilepsy Center and a Joint Commission ComprehensiveStroke Center with world-class technology (and attendingphysicians). For our long-term EEG patients, we have a dedicatedInpatient EEG Monitoring Room, which is staffed 24/7, optimizingdiagnostic quality and enabling quick-response patient care. As MUSC’s neuroscience program continues to expand, we are lookingfor dedicated solid people to join our team with a passion todeliver the best possible healthcare for our patients. Our ClinicalNeurophysiology Lab proudly comprises five accredited labs,including an IOM team, an Outpatient EEG team, an Inpatient EEGteam, an EMG team, and a Neurovascular team. Minimum Training and Requirements:
Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited program ofElectroneurodiagnostic (END) technology or the equivalent andregistered as an EEG Technician by ABRET required and must bemaintained. Certified Long Term Monitoring Technician by ABRETrequired. Two years of EEG Tech work experience required. May require working irregular hours under stressful conditions,rotating shifts, and weekends. Employee must possess considerable knowledge of basic medicalterminology and human anatomy; ability to understand and implementa variety of detailed instructions in the execution of complextherapeutic procedures; and ability to make accurate physicalobservations of patients.
