Responsibilities include preparing patients, gathering and documenting medical histories, explaining testing procedures, and performing procedures according to electrodiagnostic and lab standards. The role spans various settings, including bedside, sleep lab, medical surgical, and critical care units, across all patient ages. The Neuroscience Tech I utilizes specialized equipment, collects data pertinent to interpreting test results, and assists other technologists or medical staff with complex recordings. Additionally, they support neuroscientists in preparing and maintaining equipment, collecting and analyzing data, and ensuring lab safety protocols are followed. Essential Functions Prepares patient for non-invasive electrodes and monitoring long and short term for neurological needs as ordered by provider. Performs continuous EEG monitoring in and out of specialty units. Sets up equipment to conduct studies, prepares patient by describing study, attached required equipment, operates equipment as needed to monitor patient. Communicates with other team member, senior level technicians, and provider with operational protocols for caring of patient with possible seizures or other medical concerns. Assists to identify patient and family learning needs and provides pertinent information regarding the procedure that is appropriate for the patient and family. Administers medications as ordered by providers. Transports patient as needed from units or to hospital lobby. Records and analyzes experimental data using appropriate software and tools. Follows all lab safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Keeps detailed records of experiments, results, and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. Qualifications Associate Degree in healthcare preferred 0-1 years experience in field of nuerodiagnostics required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and manage projects. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Familiarity with laboratory equipment and software used in neuroscience research. Ability to accurately record and analyze experimental data. Capability to troubleshoot equipment and experimental issues. Strong written and verbal communication for documenting and presenting findings. Ability to work collaboratively with other lab members and researchers. Efficiently managing time to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks. Flexibility to adapt to new techniques, protocols, and changes in the lab environment. Analyzing experimental results and drawing meaningful conclusions.
