Job Description

EMT, Field Hockey Camp 2.5 2.5 out of 5 stars Durham, NH USNH Employees should apply within Workday through the Jobs Hub app Emergency Medical Technician’s (EMT) play a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of campers by managing a wide scope of responsibilities. Their qualifications allow them to administer basic life support, control bleeding, treat minor wounds, and administer oxygen with acute, or chronic injuries and medical conditions. They are also responsible for maintaining clear communication with coaches, parents, and campers regarding any medical concerns. Duties/Responsibilities Responding to 911 calls and other emergencies: EMTs are dispatched to scenes of accidents, medical emergencies, and other situations where immediate medical attention is needed.

Assessing patient conditions:

EMTs evaluate a patient’s condition, including their level of consciousness, breathing, circulation, and any injuries they may have.

Providing basic life support:

This includes administering CPR, controlling bleeding, and providing oxygen therapy.

Treating injuries and illnesses:

EMTs can treat minor injuries like wounds and burns, as well as manage symptoms of shock and other medical emergencies.

Transporting patients:

EMTs drive ambulances and transport patients to hospitals or other healthcare facilities for further care.

Communicating with other healthcare professionals:

EMTs communicate with emergency dispatchers, doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide updates on patient conditions and treatment plans.

Requirements Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

High school diploma or

GED, CPR

certification, and must complete a state-approved EMT program and pass the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exams.
