Summary The Endoscopy Technician assists the Gastroenterologist in performing routine and complex invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Precleans, disinfects, and prepares equipment used for procedures as needed. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Completion of the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) Associate preferred One (1) or more years experience as an Endoscopy Technician. Experience with advance procedures such as Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP). Proficiency in the use of applicable computer software. Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification preferred. Completes semi-annual training from Olympus or other training organization preferred.
