The Endoscopy Technician position is needed at our Wake Endoscopy Center to set up endoscopes, sterilize equipment, and support patients and staff during endoscopy procedures. The Wake Endoscopy Center focuses on digestive and liver diseases and performs all routine and advanced procedures including endoscopies, colonoscopies, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasounds, as well as therapeutic infusions.

Group Health, Dental, and Vision FSA and HSA options Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) 401(k) Retirement Plan with matching Company provided Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Company provided Life Insurance Competitive Salaries Annual Employee Appreciation Events On an average day, you will: Prepare patients for GI procedures by assisting in patient intake, transport, paperwork, and recordkeeping of physician observations, as directed Sterilize and prepare rooms and equipment, such as scopes, before and after procedures as directed Support and assist physicians and registered nurses with procedures as directed Verify proper equipment functions and perform safety checks Assist in troubleshooting routine GI endoscopy equipment; problem solve equipment problems quickly & efficiently Collect and deliver specimens collected during procedures, ensuring the field remains sterile Place devices to monitor vital signs on patients, including blood pressure cuffs, surgical cautery pads, cardiac monitoring electrodes, pulse oximeter sensors, and nasal cannulas To qualify for this job you must have: Basic understanding of practices and concepts related to endoscopy procedures Dependability to complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner Ability to follow OSHA safety guidelines and privacy policies Good verbal and written communication skills One year of recent medical office experience Two years of endoscopy or surgical tech experience Current BLS certification We’d also love it if you have: An Associates degree in Medical Assisting or Surgical Technology Experience with EHR Physical requirements and work environment: Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching Must be able to support at least 75 pounds to reposition, transfer, and ambulate patients safely Must be able to visually inspect and monitor equipment
