Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Endoscopy Technician Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the decontamination, sterilization, preparation, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. You will work closely with physicians and staff to maintain high standards of infection control and patient safety during all phases of the process.

Key Responsibilities:
Endoscope Reprocessing:

Clean, disinfect, and reprocess all endoscopes in accordance with center policies and manufacturer recommendations (IFU).

Sterilization:

Sterilize endoscopic accessories and maintain sterile technique between patient use.

Equipment Management:

Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain endoscopic equipment, including automatic endoscope reprocessors (AERs/DSDs).

Inventory Control:

Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels of endoscopic supplies and accessories.

Compliance:

Ensure proper documentation for sterilization processes and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Surgical Support:

Anticipate and prepare equipment based on the surgery schedule, ensuring all necessary tools and supplies are ready.

Patient Confidentiality:

Maintain patient confidentiality in line with HIPAA and organizational privacy policies.

Safety & Cleanliness:

Adhere to infection control protocols, universal precautions, and ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Professional Development:

Participate in continuing education and staff meetings to ensure ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (required) At least 1 year of experience in endoscope reprocessing or a related field Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Membership in a professional organization (preferred)
