The position’s primary mission involves advising the
COMUSMARCENT
in all matters pertaining to current and future operations and organizing, directing, and controlling USMC operations in the
USCENTCOM AOR.
The operations directorate handles force requirements and coordinates Global Force Management needs with the Service and USCENTCOM, overseeing training, readiness, personnel recovery, and force protection, and ensures all necessary actions are aligned for both current and future operations. The Exercise Analysis Services directly supports services for MARCENT through the development of exercise objectives and planning and analyzing effectiveness to ensure the efficient execution of
MARCENT OAMS
tasks both within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS). The Exercise Analysis Services will perform the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide exercise analysis services that supports MARCENT exercise design, planning, execution, and assessment of the
MARCENT INTREPID MAVEN
series and other exercises as directed by the
MARCENT G-3. INTREPID MAVEN
enables episodic opportunities to employ Marine Corps force elements to the
CENTCOM AOR
in order to meet unit level training objectives, conduct service experimentation, participate in scalable deployment/redeployment activities, gain, and maintain AOR familiarity, utilize multi-nodal transportation, validate all domain operating concepts, and meet combatant commander and service specified objectives. Services shall include assisting in the management of four (one per quarter) annual

events. Assist in the development and review of exercise objectives, concepts, Mission Essential Task Lists (METLs), training plans, budgets, force deployment data, tables of organization, and force protection plans to ensure they meet requirements identified by higher headquarters as well as comply with Joint Staff and Service doctrine. Maintain

exercise-related web pages, historical files, and other required documentation in accordance with MARCENT Records Management requirements. Assist in maintaining MARCENT Joint Training Information Management Systems (JTIMS) data. Plan and coordinate all requirements for exercise planning conferences; to include writing message traffic, providing meeting minutes, developing presentations, developing exercise scenarios and exercise injects, developing and maintaining exercise Standard Operating Procedures and arranging for travel and hotel accommodations. Organize and assist with exercise planning conferences and site surveys as directed by the
MARCENT G-3.
Compose briefings to COMUSMARCENT, the MARCENT Staff, and external units, as required. Assist the
MARCENT G-5
when required with other exercises or subject matter exchanges that contribute to
INTREPID MAVEN
future execution or are conducted in lieu of
INTREPID MAVEN. EDUCATION HS
diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum ten years of military experience. Experience in planning, designing, executing, and analyzing military exercises, particularly with a focus on complex and multi-domain exercises. Experience developing and reviewing exercise objectives, Mission Essential Task Lists (METLs), training plans, and compliance with Joint Staff and Service doctrine. Experience with Joint Training Information Management Systems (JTIMS) or similar databases for exercise and training data management.
CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Expertise in developing exercise objectives, concepts, and scenarios, with the ability to assess and improve the effectiveness of exercises, as well as planning conferences, coordinating logistics, and maintaining documentation. Ability to manage and maintain exercise-related web pages, historical files, and data within JTIMS. Proficient in writing, presenting, and composing briefings and reports for senior leadership and external units. Knowledgeable in maintaining records in accordance with MARCENT Records Management requirements. Ability to develop and review comprehensive exercise plans and documentation to ensure compliance with doctrine and requirements. Capable of assisting with various exercises and subject matter exchanges as needed, contributing to future exercise execution and improvements. Advanced proficiency with groupware applications (SharePoint, MS Teams) and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.) desired.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
Travel is required. Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company’s auto insurance provider.
