Broward House, Inc. is a not-for-profit community-based organization serving Broward County with a focus on HIV care and Prevention, housing, and behavioral health. Show up each day to provide client-centered care to each client you come into contact with. This position requires providing assessments, individual therapy sessions, and creative groups. This position also requires comfortability by being adaptable to the unique needs of each situation. We work with creating individual treatment for each client and do not believe ‘one size fits all’. Being able to work with others and understanding the Broward House mission is essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Complete an integrated assessment of individual clients and revise as necessary.
Develops an integrated and collaborative individualized treatment plan with a transition component with the client and client’s providers.
Work collaboratively with Broward house team to ensure client’s needs are met
Have an understanding of all Broward House programs and essential linkages
Provides the appropriate level of individual therapeutic intervention to support the stabilization and progression of clients
Creatively develop and facilitate group therapy session with a variety of delivery methods covering a full range of clinical topics and life areas
Provides and Links clients to supportive services to enhance clinical interventions
Participates in individual supervision and meets with internal and external interdisciplinary treatment team members to coordinate client services and documents outcomes of meetings
Prepares individuals and arranges for discharge or transfer from services with support in place and transition to support Behavioral Health services to maintain progress and health
Submits all documentation in an accurate and timely manner, including electronic records. Achieves and maintains program established productivity levels.
Promotes program refinement, understands client/public need and effectively participates in all assigned meetings.
Presents the Behavioral Health programming in the community as assigned
Engage clients in a strength-based supportive manner providing re-directions and guidance as necessary including home and community visits.
Engages, counsels, manages, motivates and effectively works with high-risk, vulnerable client population, including chemically dependent persons.
Engages, counsels, manages, and effectively works with people in crisis.
Other duties as assigned.

Moderate to Advanced knowledge of engagement, education and substance use mental health and substance abuse disorders
Knowledge of stage wise treatment methods

Ability to effectively engage with high-risk, vulnerable client population and persons in crisis.
Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
An ability to maintain a strong sense of respect for confidentiality involving both clients and fellow employees.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, collaborating agencies and the public
Ability to demonstrate and model culturally competent behavior
Moderate to advanced computer skills required: Microsoft Office, Multiple Databases, Scheduling Programs
Ability to work independently with minimal direction
Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle.
Ability to provide your own transportation
Ability to work under pressure and to assess changing priorities and competing deadlines is essential
Flexibility and ability to cope with several tasks simultaneously
Must be physically and mentally fit to respond to emergency situations.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree in the Behavioral Health Sciences or related field from an accredited university or college
One year experience as a therapist, HIV/AIDS knowledge preferred

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

HIV 500
Valid Florida Driver’s License and ongoing proof of insurance required
