Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Provision of specialized trauma-focused mental health services, designed to meet the unique needs of primary (child victims) and secondary victims through the Center.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The

VOCA THERAPIST

will accept referrals of child victims of crime and secondary victims and

  • Utilize evidence-based treatment modalities and interventions for presenting issues and diagnoses associatedwith trauma, including, but not limited to, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF
  • CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, motivational interviewing, and psychoeducation skills. (VOCA 5%
  • Utilize assessment tools that include, but are not limited to, Trauma Symptom Child Checklist, Childrens Functional Assessment Rating Scale (CFARS) and Functional Assessment Rating Scales (FARS). (VOCA 5%
  • Provide individual therapy with children as well as with parents/caregivers; family therapy when applicable. (VOCA 80%
  • Develop, implement and modify treatment plans that include long term and short term measurable goals based on diagnosis and clinical knowledge.

Measure outcomes through

CFARS/FARS.

Include progress in reaching measurable outcomes in progress notes and in the written discharge summary.

Submit/upload the following written documentation:

Biopsychosocial within two (2) weeks of initial appointment; progress/session notes weekly, treatment plans (initial and updated quarterly), and discharge summarywithin two (2) weeks of discharge to the CAC Program Manager. Additional reports may be requested fromtime to time by the partner agencies and/or the CAC Program Manager. (VOCA 3%

  • Maintain frequent contact as needed with law enforcement, Family Care Manager and/or the Department of Children and Families Child Protective Investigator. (VOCA 2%
  • Review and update appointment calendar daily. (VOCA 1%
  • Safety plan. (VOCA 1%
  • Testify in Court when necessary. (VOCA 1%
  • Provide client updates to child advocate. (VOCA 1%
  • Attend and participate in MDT, clinical consultation/peer review and team meetings. (VOCA 1%
  • Uses and follows the policies/procedures.
NON-ESSENTIAL/SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

Performs any additional duties as directed or assigned by supervisor, management staff, program director or management staff. JOB STANDARDS
Education:

Masters in a related mental health field. Has demonstrated relevant experience in trauma-focused mental health services.

LCSW, LMHC, LMFT

preferred.

Experience:

Two years of experience in related mental health field.

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid Florida drivers license. Subject to Federal, State and Local legal requirements/background checks/clearance for working with vulnerable populations.
