Job Description

Mental Health Assessor 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars Clarkston, GA 30021 • Hybrid work Positive Growth, Inc. is a community-based organization that provides outpatient mental health services to children, youth, adults, and families. We provide individual, family, and group counseling for children, adolescents and adults with mental health/substance abuse diagnoses. Our agency is currently seeking one full-time clinical Mental Health Assessor (MHA) and one part-time Mental Health Assessor (MHA) to conduct thorough biopsychosocial assessments for children, adolescents, and adults to determine the level of treatment required. The MHA identifies treatment needs and recommends treatment plans through the development of treatment goals based on information obtained during the assessment. Responsibilities also include trauma, suicide screening and other forms of assessments and evaluations.

Role includes:

Conducting initial consultations to gather client’s information Asking questions and listening to help clients explore their thoughts and feelings Assessing clients’ emotional and mental health Formulating diagnostic impressions, and complete effective, S.M.A.R.T treatment plans. Complete and submit assessments and treatment goals in a timely manner according to state guidelines Develops recommendations and referrals for additional care, services, discharge and follow-up treatment Provides timely progress notes, develop treatment/service plans, identify appropriate treatment methods, and use a variety of applied psychotherapeutic techniques. Documenting completed assessment and treatment plan via BIRP notes submission Maintaining detailed confidential records Ability to work with a diverse population and open to learning and understanding different perspectives. Conducting mental health assessments and providing appropriate diagnoses Clinical paperwork, timely record keeping abilities and entry in EHR systems.

Administration and compliance:

Complete evaluations in accordance with DBHDD standards and regulations. Completes intake and assessment records and documents services in a timely manner and in accordance with DBHDD established timelines. Maintains strict confidentiality guidelines regarding all clients, conversations, and referrals.

Qualifications:

License preferred (APC, LMSW, LPC, LCSW, LAMFT, and LMFT) (2) years’ experience in the human services/clinical field -preferred Master’s Degree in behavioral science or clinical field First Aid/CPR certification required Must be able to work autonomously and meet critical deadlines
