Overview:
Intensive Outpatient Therapist
Responsibilities:
Facilitate Intensive Outpatient (IOP) group therapy sessions and provide family support services.
Conduct 6-8 Level of Care Assessments per week, based on program needs and standards.
Lead one aftercare Outpatient therapy group for clients stepping down to lower levels of care, as needed.
Prepare materials for group facilitation and maintain client files in compliance with program standards.
Develop treatment plans collaboratively with clients, families, and colleagues, ensuring timely updates.
Evaluate behavioral and emotional needs of clients and their families.
Maintain professional communication with clients, referral sources, and team members.
Perform insurance reviews, document progress, and collect client co-pays.
Meet productivity requirements, working 40 hours per week, 5 days a week.
Attend trainings, staff meetings, and supervision sessions as required.
Maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic environment, including providing crisis intervention as needed.
Uphold ethical boundaries and support other office programming as appropriate.
Perform additional duties as necessary.
Technical Competencies:
Understanding of mental health, and complex conditions.
Proficiency in assessment, treatment planning, and continuing evaluation.
Experience with family engagement, referrals, and counseling (individual and group).
Strong documentation skills and ethical responsibility.
Demonstrated readiness to support diverse populations.
Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s Degree in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in human services), or a related field, with a clinical based internship completed. Experience in behavioral health or addiction treatment preferred.
