Wellness Advocate Job Overview:
Join our team as a Wellness Advocate and make a positive impact on individuals’ health and well-being. As a Wellness Advocate, you will play a crucial role in promoting healthy lifestyle choices, providing guidance on nutrition, fitness, and overall wellness strategies. Be knowledgeable, member service oriented, and overall pleasant to others. Operate membership software, enroll new members and ensure members complete check-in before starting a workout. Be able to answer basic fitness questions and have knowledge of equipment, proper use of equipment and proper workout techniques. Keep the fitness floor clean and make sure all weights, equipment, benches and accessories are in their proper place. Enforce all Wellness Center policies and procedures in a consistent manner. Report any concerns pertaining to the fitness center to the Wellness Coordinator. Attend scheduled staff meetings and complete all required trainings. Protect the facility against fire, theft and vandalism, ensuring that unauthorized persons are not allowed to roam the facility. Monitor all fitness areas and be aware of patrons and activities taking place at all times. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
1. Certification as a personal trainer or in fitness/wellness activities preferred. 2. College education in sport’s fitness, health education/related field or experience in a fitness or sports environment. 3. Working knowledge of basic computer programs (windows, word, excel) and effective communication skill.
