Job Summary:
The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Educator is responsible for developing and delivering educational programs that promote the recovery and well-being of individuals with mental health challenges. This role involves teaching patient’s essential life skills, facilitating support groups, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create a holistic rehabilitation approach.
Responsibilities:
Program Development:
Design and implement educational programs that integrate psychosocial rehabilitation principles and computer skills training tailored to the needs of diverse learners.
Instruction:
Deliver high-quality instruction in both psychosocial concepts and computer skills, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and technologies to enhance learning.
Education and Training:
Conduct workshops, group sessions, and individual training on topics such as life skills, communication, problem-solving, and stress management.
Assessment and Evaluation:
Assess patients’ needs and progress through regular evaluations, adjusting programs as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
Resource Connection:
Assist patients in accessing community resources, including housing, employment, and recreational activities.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of client interactions, program participation, and outcomes in compliance with organizational policies and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications:
Bilingual:
English and Haitian Creole Education:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, education, or a related field Computer skills : Proficient in computer skills, including software applications and online tools
Experience:
Experience in psychosocial rehabilitation, mental health education, or related fields is highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage and motivate clients; knowledge of mental health recovery principles and evidence-based practices.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications in mental health education or psychosocial rehabilitation preferred.
