$35.04•$47.30 / hour Summary HealthPark Medical Center is seeking an experienced Lactation Consultant/Maternal Educator. This is a full time position working 10am to 10pm (three 12 hour shifts). This RN must have applicable experience and the IBCLC. The Lactation Consultant/Maternal Educator (LC/ME) is responsible for comprehensive maternal// infant and feeding assessments related to lactation and provides education to clients concerning pregnancy// childbirth// lactation and parenting. The LC/ME demonstrates specialized knowledge and clinical expertise in breastfeeding and uses the principles of adult education when teaching clients// health care providers and others in the community. Provides education and counseling in a manner that encourages informed decision making about childbirth and breastfeeding. Provides care based on established clinical nursing practice standards subscribed to by American Nursing Association and in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act. IBCLC and AWHONN standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Supports the organization vision and mission. Uses knowledge of patient’s age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through excellence in customer service and performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.
