Summary:
Provide health and safety education programs to caregivers and children as part of the Children’s Wellness & Safety program. Participate in community events, health fairs and other projects promoting St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. May be required to design and implement curriculums for caregivers and/or children ages 3 to grade 12. Travel within the service area using own transportation. Perform other duties as assigned. The BayCare Kids Wellness & Safety Educator provides classroom instruction in the following areas: Physical Activity and Nutrition for children of all ages Bike, Pedestrian, Water and Home Safety Safe Sitter- Babysitting Puberty education American Heart Association- Infant and Child CPR/First Aid Certification Training for Adults Car Seat education as a Nationally Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician Schedule will vary, with the majority scheduled during school or summer camp hours. One Saturday per month is required. Work site locations such as schools, churches, community centers will be dependent on the instructor’s home address. Preference will be given to those living in Pinellas County. Staff will travel with teaching supplies using their own transportation. Benefits:
This is a PRN position that will be scheduled for a minimum of 20 hours per week with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours as needed. Medical benefits are available after one year of service and an average of 30 hours worked per week.
