Department LSUNO Human Development Center Position Summary Manage overall health and internal monitoring activities for Early Head Start program. The Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for monitoring, overseeing and assuring confidentiality of health records, monitoring and analyzing service data in the management information system. The H&S Specialist coordinates the Health Services Advisory Committee and provides health education, training and consultation to staff and families, and overall compliance with Head Start Health and Safety standards. The person in this position also will be responsible for compliance with federal and state statutes and rules pertaining to Health and Safety within the context of Early Head Start programs, including but not limited to: Louisiana Child Care Licensing regulations, Americans with Disabilities Act, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, and other special education provisions. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for interfacing with medical and dental health professionals/consultants and supporting medical/dental home to ensure child and family health needs are addressed.
