Part-Time Health Coach Position Available In Iredell, North Carolina

Part-Time Health Coach HBD International Statesville, NC 28625 HBD provides on-site workplace health, wellness, and injury prevention programs. We are seeking a qualified candidate for an ongoing part-time contract health coaching position. The primary location is STATESVILLE, NC, but there is a second location in Salisbury which will require 2 visits per month. HBD’s programs have a “total population” approach. We seek to engage and involve all employees in our health promotion initiatives and we use a coaching model where coaches move around our client’s workplace, proactively approaching and engaging everyone to briefly discuss each individual’s health goals. Our goal is to provide personally relevant information to inspire practical and sustainable health behavior change across a diverse population. As such, we need knowledgeable and qualified coaches with excellent communication and time management skills so that they are comfortable and efficient in engaging large numbers of people across a diverse population. Coaches need strong health education or experience so that they can adapt health information to be relevant for people at varying stages of interest and behavioral readiness. The contractor will often work independently but will be part of a local or regional team of coaches and will report to a local Team Leader. Must be able to self-manage, work independently, problem-solve, communicate professionally with local client management, and must be able to keep accurate records and complete timely online data entry. Other activities may include, but are not limited to:

• Small or large group presentations or public speaking
• Conducting finger-stick Biometric screenings
• Preparing interactive displays or table-top education exhibits
• Assisting client employees with accessing our web portal and completing HRAs
• Computer use, data entry, report writing or other record-keeping
• Participating in HBD conference video calls and local team meetings We anticipate an available range of around 8-14 hours per week (average 2 days per week) depending on the candidate and their availability.

Hours and days can be flexible and mostly self-managed, but will be on a varying schedule which will require the candidate to have flexibility including the ability to routinely work early mornings or late evenings in order to cover the client’s shift workers or to be present at client employee meetings. No weekend work is anticipated. 80

• 90% of work will be completed onsite.

Majority of work will be in Statesville NC, but regular travel (approx. 1-2 times per month) to Salisbury NC is required. This role cannot be done remotely. Please do not apply if you are not in, or intend to be in the Statesville NC region. We will not relocate candidates for this position. You must have reliable transport and an ability to visit Statesville and Salisbury regularly. There may be future opportunities towards full-time and benefits, but there is no set timeline for this and candidates should not apply with an expectation that they have a defined timeline to full-time. Full-time progression is dependent on local business growth and demonstrated performance. This part-time position does not include benefits.
