LGBTQ Project Assistant/Health Educator Family & Children’s Counseling Services 165 Main Street, Cortland, NY 13045 GENERAL
RESPONSIBILITIES
- With oversight from the LGBT Project Supervisor and working with the Project Coordinator, plans, conducts, and evaluates community outreach, programs, professional training workshops, and special projects for the Cortland LGBT Center.
- Co-manages the implementation of all details of the workplan and hosts conferences and events related to LGBT issues.
- Coordinates all aspects of LGBT health and wellness community newsletter and other special projects as assigned.
- Works closely and collaboratively with advisory committee to promote active volunteerism and successful collaborations.
- Attends meetings required by funders .
- Co-assists the evaluation process for all programs.
- Affirm the rights of LGBTQ individuals to receive services that are free of discrimination regarding sexual orientation, gender identification, and gender expression
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be familiar with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender issues, organizations, resources and have professional expereince working with/for LGBT people in an education or advocacy role.
- Must have experience working collabortively with community based organizations.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Associates Degree or higher, Bachelors preferred
- Excellent organization, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Computer proficiency. Grant writing, reporting and budgeting expirence required. Fundraising and event planning experience highly desirable.
- Ability to work flexible and after-hours when needed and acceptance of working hours determined by the needs of the program.
- Strong commitment to the missions, goals, and values of the LGBT Center.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with other staff, volunteers, board members, donors, clients and vendors. Promote teamwork.
- Demonstrates respectful and non-judgmental treatment of all regardless of age, race, class, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, ethnicity, national origin, or ability.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$46,000.00 – $48,000.00 per year
