Women’s Services Patient Education Position Type:

Full Time (32 Weekly Hours)

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Department Director, provides direct assistance and patient care to the breastfeeding mother and infant. Works in collaboration with the nursing and support staff to assure that the mother and infant receive current and evidenced based education and hands on support. Provides on-going education to nursing staff so that care can be consistent throughout the mother and infant’s stay. Serves as the program expert in assuring all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements are met.

Requirements:

Current RN license with the South Carolina State Board of Nursing. Advanced certification as an

IBCLC BLS

certification required. Previous hospital experience preferred in area specialty.
