The Medical Technician will be responsible for assisting healthcare professionals with medical procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining accurate medical records. Responsibilities Assist nurses and physicians in delivering patient care, including catheter care and other medical procedures. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols. Document patient information accurately using electronic health record systems such as Epic. Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans and medical terminology. Support patients with dementia care by providing compassionate assistance and monitoring their well-being. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient assessments and interventions. Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills in acute care and home community care settings. Requirements Previous experience as a Medical Technician or in a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team. Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly Epic, is highly desirable. Strong understanding of patient care protocols, including catheter care and hospice care practices.
