SUMMARY:
Performs diagnostic CT exams, Screening CTexams and interventional CT procedures in accordance with approvedtechniques and standards as established by Radiologists, governingand accrediting bodies. Completes the necessary documentation foreach exam to ensure Radiologist can provide quality diagnosticinterpretation and CPH can bill accordingly . Communicates withRadiologist and department Leadership on a routine basis to insurea high level of care and service for patients and to meet providerneeds. Operates CT scanner, general diagnostic radiographicequipment and ancillary support systems to perform CT anddiagnostic radiographic procedures per provider orders. This is inaccordance with approved techniques, policies and regulatorystandards as established by regulatory agencies, standards andpolicies set forth by the organization. Adheres to the professionalstandards of the NYS Department of Health, the American Registry ofRadiologic Technologist and the Mammography Quality Standards Act.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides daily coordination for all CT studies, insures thatpatient and provider needs are met and communication is maintainedbetween all parties to include staff, radiologists, providers, andpatients. Performs CT procedures utilizing the principles and knowledgeof anatomy, positioning and radiographic techniques to includecollimation, shielding, and exposure factors to minimize radiationdose to the patient. Under the direction and guidance of the radiologist facilitatesimplementation and communication of new or updated protocols tointernal and external care areas and providers. Follows organizational standards to include but not limited topatient identification, patient education, consents, and orderverification and infection control. Practices radiation protectiontechniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient, family, andstaff and verifies pregnancy status if appropriate per departmentand regulatory standards. Responsible for QA/QC procedures as designated and maintainsstandards of these programs. This includes processes involving CTequipment, image quality, documentation and radiation dosereporting and control. Performs general radiographic procedures utilizing theprinciples and knowledge of anatomy, positioning and radiographictechniques to include collimation, shielding, and exposure factorsto minimize radiation dose to the patient
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required Degree:
High School Diploma or GED Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology program Documentation of successful CT training and competencies
Required Certification/Licensure:
New York State Department of Health Licensure Registered with
ARRT BLS
within 3 months of hire.
Required Years of Experience:
1 year experience in general radiography setting

PAY RANGE
$35.16•$52.16 The listed base payrange is a good faith representation of current potential base payfor a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in thefuture and eligible for additional pay components. Pay isdetermined by factors including experience, relevantqualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, andcontracts.
