SUMMARY:
Performs high quality Radiographic exams as directed bythe Radiologist. Assists in the daily routines of the ImagingDepartment. Responsible for performing any procedures that are partof General Radiology, including special procedures, OR cases,portable exams, etc. This is in accordance with approvedtechniques, policies and regulatory standards as established byregulatory agencies, standards and policies set forth by theorganization. Adheres to the professional standards of the NYSDepartment of Health, the American Registry of RadiologicTechnologist.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs direct patient care: Applies knowledge of anatomy,positioning and radiographic techniques for each exam. Determinesexposure factors to achieve optimum radiographic techniques withminimum radiation exposure. Follows the ALARA principle inincorporating collimation and shielding in accordance with policyand procedures. Performs any special procedures as part of DIservices, prepares contrast media for exams as needed. GreetsPatients/family in professional manner and can adequately listenand take care of patient concerns or refer concerns as needed.
Utilizes two patient identifiers per policy, verifies Providerorder accuracy, educates patients pre/during and post procedure.
Ensures that patients are properly dressed and prepped for allexams. Maintains Equipment, supplies, cleanliness and
Safety:
FollowsCPH Infection control P&P with regards to Isolation, universalprecautions, cleansing of equipment. Maintains an adequate amountof supplies within exam rooms as needed for schedule. Performsdaily QA/QC on equipment as required per manufacturer and/orNYS-reports any mechanical issues or system errors to BiomedDepartment. Wears radiation film badge per guidelines and turns ineach month for monitoring. Provides assistance to Peers andPatients in transporting, transferring, and standing of patients,following safe handling guidelines.

Follows standards of behavior as set by the department and CPH.Completes annual Healthstream programs, maintains HIPPA, complieswith laws, rules, regulations, standards and hospital policies.
Reports compliance issues through the chain of command. Stayswithin hospital guidelines regarding sick/absent time, and providesproper notification of absence/tardiness.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required Degree:
Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Required Certification/Licensure:
New York State Department of Health Licensure Registered with
ARRT BLS
within 3 months of hire.

PAY RANGE
$29.15•$42.34 Thelisted base pay range is a good faith representation of currentpotential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may bemodified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
