We are seeking a Full-Time Hospital Charge Tech located in our mid-town Charlotte office. Ideal candidates will have some experience in a busy medical practice ideally in insurance or coding. Must have the ability to multi-task. organize work effectively, and have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. This is not a remote position. Generates accurate surgery charge tickets by extracting, compiling and entering charge data submitted by providers resulting in timely coding and charge capture for all billable hospital services. Creates new patient records by accurately entering demographic, authorization, and insurance information. Maintains accurate records for charge tracking purposes. Organizes, sorts and maintains multiple provider surgery calendar books. Organizes charge data, hospital records and/or patient information received via email, fax, and/or mail. Works appeals tasks as assigned. Utilizes computer system for efficiency and maintains proper documentation of the appeal process from start to finish. Works collaboratively with staff to ensure charges are reported timely and efficiently. Cross trains, works reports, special projects, and other tasks in support of departmental objectives as assigned. Ensures adherence to all our guidelines and HIPAA regulations. Applies our values in decision-making and interactions with all individuals. Promotes a positive work environment through effective teamwork. Other duties as assigned by changing needs, patient flow, or physician request.
