A Clinical Support Technician I is needed for Bone MarrowTransplant Unit. The Clinical Support Tech I is a dual role of theNursing Assistant I and the Health Unit Coordinator. This unit is24 beds and cares for adult patients undergoing transplant forhematologic cancers, solid tumors, metabolic diseases and blooddisorders.

  • This position qualifies for our Nursing SupportIncentive Program.

The Nursing Support Incentive Program includes$5,000 paid over a three (3) year commitment.

//www.example.comThisis a 36 hours per week position; working 12 hour rotating shifts(7am-7:30pm and 7pm-7:30am) with weekend and holiday rotation. Thisposition qualifies for an extensive benefit package including PTOhours, which are accrued based on the number of worked hours. Thisposition requires the ability to attend the required weeklonghospital orientation offered every two weeks.

Orientation Schedule:

Monday and Tuesday

  • In person from 8am to 4pm; Wednesday
  • 8am to10am Virtual and in person from 1pm to 5 pm; and Thursday andFriday

Summary:

Responsible for assisting the professionalcaregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patientand/or equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms andperforming a wide range of clerical, transcription, and maintenanceof the patient care unit desk area functions.

Responsibilities:

1.Assists physicians and other health care providers with routineexaminations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipmentand supplies.2. Critically reviews patient care documentationmaking note of any significant changes in the patient’s conditionand make an immediate report to a registered nurse or physician.3.Provides a variety of clerical tasks to include but not limited toorganizing and prioritizing workload, greeting and directingvisitors, researching information as requested by nurses andphysicians, reviewing orders for logic and clarity, revising ordersas requested by the nurse, answering the telephone/ patient calllights, transcribing physician orders, and maintaining medicalrecords. Performs routine quality assurance audits, safety checks,and inventory of supplies. Provides administrative and clericalsupport including PI audits and data entry.4. Provides clinicalsupport assistance to include, but not limited to, cleaning thework area, maintaining office equipment, troubleshooting commonsoftware and hardware problems, changing linens, checking supplyinventory, re-stocking supplies, transporting patients/ supplies/specimens, and assisting in the orientation of new employees andstudents.5. Provides direct personal care to patients as outlinedin plan of care activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding,assisting with ambulation. Measures and records vital signs, andpatient height and weight. May be responsible for specimencollection, skin preps/scrubs, catheter care, capillary bloodglucose checks, simple wound care, range of motion exercises,and/or postural drainage.6. Reinforces routine teaching given topatients by the registered nurse or physician and document patientunderstanding of instructions.   • One (1) year of clerical or customerservice experience and six (6) months of related nursing assistantexperience, which may include a nursing assistant course or anequivalent combination of education, training andexperience.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
  • Must befluent in verbal and written English language.
