Elliot Hospital Inpatient Pharmacy The inpatient pharmacy department is comprised of pharmacists and technicians working collaboratively to provide safe, timely and effective medication therapy to our patients. We operate a decentralized model for both medication distribution utilizing Omnicell automation, as well as clinically with pharmacists dedicated to the teams on our nursing units. Elliot promotes career advancement through our ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program, technician career ladder, and reimbursement for a variety of professional certifications. About the Job As a Pharmacy Technician in our Inpatient Pharmacy you will work closely with Pharmacist Staff to process and prepare medications for patients within the hospital. You will support the Pharmacist and work as a liaison between Nursing staff and the Pharmacy. What You’ll Do Processes and prepares all patient specific medications as per provider order for pharmacist check. Distributes prepared medications to health system locations. Maintains automated dispensing cabinet medication inventory. Triages telephone calls to appropriate pharmacy personnel. Performs monthly floor inspections to assigned area locations. Triages nursing staff electronic communications to pharmacists. Serves as pharmacist operational support during assigned shifts. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. NH Board of Pharmacy Registration required. National and NH Board of Pharmacy certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire date. One year of previous pharmacy experience preferred. Knowledge of NH Drug laws preferred.
