The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including teaching hospitals, nursing homes, and critical care units. This position requires a strong commitment to supporting patients with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities and medical conditions requiring inpatient or urgent care. Duties Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating. Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in patient conditions to nursing staff. Help maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols. Support patients with mobility needs, including transferring them safely between beds, wheelchairs, and other locations. Document patient care activities accurately in medical records using systems such as Cerner. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a positive atmosphere. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients. Assist in the training of new staff or students as needed. Requirements Certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience in healthcare settings such as teaching hospitals or nursing homes. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Familiarity with electronic medical records systems like Cerner is advantageous. Previous experience in critical care or urgent care environments is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
