JOB SUMMARY

This position willperform x-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movementusing knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Operates diagnosticequipment, develops film and prepares the room with the necessaryequipment and supplies for the procedure, as well as performMedical Assistant duties. Full-time team members work a rotating36-40 hour/week schedule, consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts andevery-other weekend. Our PRN (per diem) team members are scheduledon an as-needed basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following dutiesand responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of thisposition but are not intended to be all inclusive. Other duties maybe assigned.

• Promptly greets patients when entering waiting area,exam room, and laboratory or x-ray room
• Consistently communicateswith patients on wait times; provides direction to the next step inthe treatment process
• Provides solutions to patient problems andrecognizes and seeks help in emergent/hazardous situations
• Executes follow-up calls with a sense of urgency
• Assist frontdesk personnel with patient check in/out procedures when necessary
• Obtains and accurately documents patient vital signs and weight,takes brief history, past medical, family and social historycurrent medications, allergies and other pertinent historicalinformation as appropriate
• Assists with patient transfers
• Assists with procedures directly supervised by the provider
• Follows documentation procedures and completes requireddocumentation related to patient visit.
• Performs timely radiologyprocedures for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attendingphysician
• Performs necessary quality control procedures to ensurequality exams are performed
• Prepares patients for radiologicprocedures and follows established clinical and regulatoryprocedures in regards to patient safety and care; including properradiation protection and shielding techniques.
• Ensures thatequipment is in proper working order and reports any malfunctionsto the Manager or provider on duty.
• Follows documentationprocedures and completes required documentation related to patientvisit.
• Assumes responsibility for maintaining and improvingdiagnostic imaging knowledge and skills with the support andassistance of outside educational resources
• Responsible formaintaining current licensure and certification for the facilityradiology equipment and licensure

WHAT’S REQUIRED?

• High schooldiploma or equivalent
• BLS Certification
• AR State X-Ray License
• ARRT Certification preferred
• Experience as a Medical Assistantis preferred
