Patient Care Technician Confidential Canandaigua, NY 14424 Overview The Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients in various healthcare settings. This position is essential for supporting nursing staff and ensuring the comfort and safety of patients. The PCT will work in environments such as Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, emergency medicine, medical-surgical units, outpatient clinics, and pediatric intensive care units (PICU). The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care, particularly in geriatrics and inpatient settings. Duties Assist Physician Assistant with daily patient care activities. Take patient vital signs and report any changes to the team promptly. Ability to use laptop while discussing patient history and updating charts. Familiarity with insurance authorizations and imaging auths. Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Follow HIPAA guidelines while discussing in person or over phone. Participate in team meetings and contribute to patient care planning as needed. Experience Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly medical-surgical environments. Familiarity with working in both inpatient and outpatient settings is advantageous. Being able to multitask and have good time management. Experience with eClinical software is a plus. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a patient-centered approach. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
