Summary of Role:

The overall objective of the EHS&S Emergency Response Team (ERT) Specialist is to promote a strong emergency response culture by providing ERT expertise and ensuring that management systems are established and effectively used to maintain compliance. The ideal candidate will have the ability to adapt in a fast paced, changing environment, possess strong organizational skills with the ability to build professional relationships with numerous inter-dependent teams of different disciplines.

Essential Responsibilities:

Assist with ERT training preparation and support/logistics, including scheduling, tracking, documentationAssist with ERT call response and support for medical (EMT), Hazmat, Fire Brigade, Confined Space RescueConduct inspections and inventory checks of buildings, rooms, equipment, AEDs (automated external defibrillator), fire extinguishers and vehiclesEnsure call readiness by restocking required equipment/supplies in ERT rooms, trucks, and trailersMaintain equipment for hazmat, confined space and technical rescue, fire brigade and EMSAssist with tracking and trending of calls, meetings, member status, and equipment useWork with vendors to order new supplies and equipmentAssist with respirator fit testing, cylinder refills, Level A suit inflation testing, annual hose & ladder testing and driver qualification processWork with the site to drive and facilitate a strong safety cultureManage and assist with the development and implementation of site-specific safety procedures and programs as assignedWork with teams on hazard identification, evaluation, control and provide appropriate risk mitigation strategiesEducate site personnel on ERT requirements and standards as neededRespond to Permit to Work RequestAbility to acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of site-specific hazards and response proceduresProvides coaching to all employees to maintain safety excellence at the facilityParticipate in EHS self-assessment and/or auditsProvide technical assistance and guidance to site populationFacilitate coordination of completion of ERT documentation in a timely fashion Assist with the preparation for, completion and coordination of site audits (VPP, Management Systems, etc.)Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programsPeriodic regional travel may be requiredPerform additional work activities as directed by EHS&S Management.

Required Qualifications:

Ability to perform 12hr night shift workFlexibility supporting off-shift work, meetings, trainings, absences periodically1-5 years of relevant experience within the emergency response professionStrong customer service and communication skillsJoin/support the Fab 8 hazmat, fire brigade, and confined space rescue teamsResponsibilities will be physically demanding and hands-on at timesProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point applications; able to use Outlook email, sheets, forms, docs, and slidesAbility to wear Respiratory Protection and HAZMAT Response equipment for extended periods of time in adverse conditions – Must be clean shaven

Preferred Qualifications:

Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety or Health, Emergency Management or closely related degree or equivalent militaryThorough working understanding of
