Summary In addition to performing the role of a BHT, the BHT Supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision of clients and other BHTs while on duty. BHT Supervisor ensures client and staff follow protocols, and reports issues to the Program Director / BHT Manager and others as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervises Behavioral Health Technicians and provides feedback on their performance. Orients and Trains new staff to unit and program. Assists with Interviewing and Hiring BHT’s. Communicates with staff either verbally or in written communication logs. Assists with employee corrective actions and development Develops employee schedule as applicable. Conducts employee performance evaluations as applicable. Assists with interventions with clients. Assists with confiscation and inventory management of client items. Evaluates training needs, department performance, system changes, and client concerns, etc. Coordinate activities including lectures, recreation and meetings Follows objectives of treatment plans. Schedules BHT’s to attend trainings. Attends facility meetings and coordinates BHT department meetings. Attends treatment team meetings, shift change and company meetings as required. Completes all required trainings. Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities Provide training and day-to-day guidance to the BHT team including, but not limited to, making daily rounds of the facility. Required Qualifications Licensure, Education, & Experience High diploma or equivalent required Previous clinical experience preferred Prefer behavioral health experience or general healthcare experience Current CPR, AED and First Aid, required Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Upholding staff code of ethics and therapeutic boundaries Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, twist, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds. The employee must seldom carry up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet & indoors. This position will require local travel. This position will be scheduled based on operational need & will be required to provide own transportation. Incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease, and/or infection from clients in the work environment. Incumbent may be exposed to traumatic situations (i.e. psychiatric).
