This position involves working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and comfort of patients during their care. The OB Technician is responsible for preparing the operating room, assisting during procedures, and maintaining a sterile environment. This role is vital in providing high-quality care to expectant mothers and their newborns. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain the operating room for obstetric and gynecological procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available. Assist healthcare providers during surgeries and other medical procedures by providing instruments and supplies as needed. Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure, addressing any concerns promptly. Maintain cleanliness and sterility of the surgical area before, during, and after procedures. Document patient information accurately in medical records as required. Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care. Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in obstetric care. Skills Strong understanding of patient care principles, particularly in obstetrics and gynecology. Experience or knowledge in geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), emergency medicine, medical-surgical settings, outpatient care, teaching hospitals, inpatient care, or clinic environments is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Proficient in maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to safety protocols. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. This position is essential for delivering compassionate care within a dynamic healthcare environment. The OB Technician will play a key role in enhancing patient experiences during one of life’s most significant moments.
