This flexible opportunity allows you to develop clinical skills, work with all age groups, and grow alongside a supportive care team
Responsibilities:
Assist with daily living activities (bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulating, repositioning, transporting) Support physical, respiratory, and cardiopulmonary therapies under RN supervision Perform core clinical tasks: vital signs, blood glucose, I&O, specimen collection, Foley care, telemetry application Complete advanced skills as trained: phlebotomy, EKG, catheter removal, bladder scans, dressings, NG tube care Provide patient and family instruction as directed by RN; apply and monitor restraints per protocol Document care and observations accurately in the medical record Respond to call lights, phones, meal trays, and transport requests as part of unit support Report equipment issues and ensure proper communication across departments Demonstrate cultural awareness, professionalism, and teamwork in all interactions Participate in self-review, seek feedback, and engage in continuous learning and improvement
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required One of the following is also required: 1 year of general healthcare experience 6+ months as a UPMC Nursing Assistant/CNA with PCT competency (within 120 days) Enrollment in a healthcare training program (PT/OT/PA, etc.) with at least one completed clinical rotation Bachelor’s degree in a health sciences field CPR certification (AHA approved) required within 30 days of hire; ACLS preferred UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
