The ideal candidate will provide essential support to nursing staff and assist in delivering high-quality patient care in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and specialized units such as the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Operating Room (OR). This role is vital in ensuring patient comfort and safety while promoting a positive healthcare experience. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Monitor vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff. Provide support during medical procedures in various departments such as Medical-surgical, Level I Trauma Center, and Level II Trauma Center. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols. Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Participate in patient education and support initiatives within the clinic or hospital setting. Assist in transporting patients to different areas of the facility as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Patient Care Technician program is preferred. Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in inpatient or outpatient environments, is highly desirable. Familiarity with trauma centers and teaching hospitals is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members. Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations while maintaining a compassionate demeanor. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; additional certifications related to specific units (e.g., PICU or OR) are advantageous. Must be able to pass background checks as required by healthcare regulations.
