In this vital role, you will provide essential support to patients and assist healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality care. This position requires a strong commitment to patient well-being, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse. Provide catheter care and support for patients requiring specialized medical attention. Maintain patient hygiene and comfort by following aseptic techniques. Collaborate with nursing staff to implement patient care plans effectively. Support behavioral health initiatives by providing empathetic care and understanding to patients in need. Engage with pediatric patients and their families to ensure a supportive environment during treatment. Uphold HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy at all times. Participate in training sessions at teaching hospitals to enhance skills and knowledge in medical-surgical care. Skills Knowledge of physiology and basic medical terminology is essential for effective patient interaction. Experience or training in hospice care is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with behavioral health practices is an asset for supporting diverse patient needs. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a positive attitude. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks efficiently.
