Full Job Description Job Summary Responsibilities:
Process and coordinate referrals from outside physician offices, gathers office notes, images from previous MRI’s and other testing, scheduling new patient appointment and contact patients. Serve as patient advocate, ensuring that the plan of care is consistent with patient choice, and that patient needs are communicated to the relevant healthcare team, identifies and advocates for needed resources and services for the patient. Ensures that all necessary demographics, billing, and clinical information obtained has been entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy. Check for insurance verification as well as assist in collecting co-pays/deductibles Correspond with insurance companies as well as primary physician offices Update and inform patients about schedules Communicate insurance information to patients effectively
Skills:
- Proficient in medical terminology and coding (ICD-10, ICD-9)
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
