Director of Case Management•

Montgomery, AL Salary Range:

$89,000•103,000 (flexibility depending on experience) Incentive plan included We are seeking a strong, experienced leader to step into the role of Director of Case Management at a 75-bed hospital in Montgomery, Alabama. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed Social Worker or Registered Nurse (BSN required) who brings both clinical expertise and a proven ability to lead, manage, and drive accountability within a dedicated case management team.

Why this role is open:

This position has become available due to the planned departure of a long-tenured DCM who has served the hospital for many years. Leadership is looking for a capable and strategic individual to take the reins and continue building a high-performing team. What you’ll oversee: A growing team of 7 full-time and 3 PRN Case Managers (with plans to add more PRNs for weekday support) A patient census averaging 68-70 daily A team mix of RN and Social Work backgrounds, including a Case Management Assistant and Senior CM with CRRN credentials Direct reports will include case managers with a typical caseload of 12-13 patients (DCM does not routinely carry a caseload unless needed) Ideal candidate qualifications: Licensed Social Worker or BSN-prepared RN Certification in Case Management (CCM or ACM) preferred but not required at hire — must be willing to obtain within first year Strong leadership skills, with experience in coaching, team building, and holding team members accountable Effective communicator, comfortable with difficult conversations and committed to high performance standards Previous director or supervisory experience within a case management department is strongly preferred This role is key to maintaining the hospital’s quality of care and operational efficiency.
