Our work environment includes: On-the-job training Modern office setting Safe work environment As a Medical Referral Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner. Schedule Monday –

Thursday:

8AM-5

PM Friday:

8AM-3PM Responsibilities Process and manage referrals from primary care physicians to specialists. Verify that all necessary documentation and information accompany referrals. Act as a liaison between patients, providers, and specialists to facilitate appointments and ensure clear communication. Inform patients about the referral process, appointment details, and follow-up care instructions. Ensure that patients’ medical records are accurate and up to date, and provide necessary information to specialists as needed. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations regarding patient information. Verify insurance eligibility and coverage for services and coordinate pre-authorizations when required. Address any insurance-related issues or questions from patients or providers. Schedule patient appointments with specialists based on referrals and ensure that timeframes are met. Track and monitor the patient’s progress post-referral, ensuring that follow-up appointments and care are adhered to. Stay updated on changes in healthcare policies, procedures, and regulations related to referrals and insurance processes. Skills Proven working experience as a medical assistant or administrative medical role Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures or medical referral processes Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work Social perceptiveness and service oriented
