Position Summary
The purpose of the Healthcare Coordinator is to develop, manage, and evaluate non-credit Healthcare Career Programs for the Workforce Development Department and oversee and manage instructors in a diverse range of training programs. The position primarily manages career programs and instructors for the department.

SALARY SCHEDULE PLACEMENT

Range of $49,366 – $84,048, based upon the Alabama Community College System and Shelton State Community College Salary Schedule C3-3 to be determined by the applicant’s education and years of applicable experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and supervising all non-credit workforce development instructors
Develop curriculum for existing and new programs, as needed and/or requested by partners Conduct onboarding and training for iing instructors to ensure proficiency in adhering to the policies and procedures of the workforce development department
Meet regularly with instructors and provide supervision, guidance, support, and feedback to ensure the effectiveness of the training provided
Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Healthcare Programs, including the activities and needs of all instructors. This includes, but is not limited to, identifying equipment, material, supplies, and facilities, reviewing syllabi, curriculum, and oues for classes Ensure that instructors regularly evaluate curricula, class materials, class learning aides, and instruction to ensure quality control
Participate in recruiting and outreach efforts on behalf of the Workforce Development Department to promote short-term training programs and generate interest and enrollment
Work with the Director, Assistant Director, and the Business Office to document student, instructor, and class information that is needed for reporting and billing
Monitor registration data and rmend marketing and public relations efforts targeted at increasing enrollment. Implement rmendations when appropriate
Provide regular analysis of instructor and program effectiveness to evaluate viability and make rmendations when needed for improvement
Work with the Director and the Office Manager to create an annual schedule of class offerings and regularly update the schedule as needed. Enter all classes into the registration system and assist students with the enrollment process
Promote innovative instructional approaches to foster student learning and effective teaching for workforce training classes
Attend the first session of class for every Workforce Development Training Program and regularly monitor class progress by making unannounced visits to all classes Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner and exhibit a positive image for the College. Provide excellent customer service at all times, which includes, but is not limited to, exhibiting a positive, friendly demeanor, building rapport through greeting individuals who enter the Center and listening carefully to assess student needs, and following up onmitments in a timely fashion
Develop and maintainmunity and corporate relationships and promote Shelton State Community College in the businessmunity
Recruit and maintain externship opportunities for students in Healthcare Training Programs

Secondary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Collect,anize, and maintain statistics in spreadsheets for various reports
Prepare accurate reports and enter data in the state database when required
Organize and maintain the filing system for class records in accordance with state regulations
Develop and distribute promotional materials for Workforce Development training courses
Assist with the daily functions and activities of the department
Understand and follow institutional policies and procedures, including the State Records Manual and departmental guidelines and procedures
Ability to work evening or weekend duty
Assists with gathering information and data needed for reports
Assists with the processing and reviewing of time sheets and leave reports

Other Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Comply with policies of the Alabama Community College System and the College
Serve on Collegemittees as required
Participate in professional development,pliance, performance excellence, and training activities as required
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Required:

Contract of Employment:

Pursuant to the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees’ Policy 204.01 and the Chancellor’s Procedures for Policy 204.01, effective July 1, 2024, executive and administrative management personnel employed on Salary Schedule B or C and who are employed in positions titled as a Deputy, Chief, Dean, Assistant or Associate Dean, Executive Director or Director, shall enter into an employment contract with the College’s President per terms and conditions established by the Alabama Community College System. Such positions are not eligible for non-probationary or tenure status. Applicants who choose not to sign a contract of employment are not eligible to be hired or placed into the subject positions.

Salary Calculation:

For all positions on all Salary Schedules, the salary amount for the selected applicant is determined by step placement on the applicable schedule.
