This is an excellent leadership opportunity for a provider passionate about improving care delivery, team culture, and outcomes for adult patients—especially within underserved communities. Even candidates with limited administrative experience are encouraged to apply. The position offers a strong platform for professional growth while shaping the clinical operations, strategy, and culture of the adult medicine department. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Clinical Director will work closely with the Nurse Manager, Practice Manager, and Director of Infectious Diseases to oversee daily operations, supervise clinical staff, ensure compliance, and support continuous improvement in both care delivery and team development. Key Responsibilities Deliver direct clinical care to adult patients Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and operational oversight of the adult medicine team Support recruitment, onboarding, retention, and performance management of clinical providers Collaborate with leadership on departmental goals and quality improvement initiatives Ensure compliance with medical regulations and performance benchmarks Supervise advanced practitioners (APRNs, PAs) Promote a patient-first, team-based care model aligned with organizational values Analyze and present operational and clinical data for strategy and decision-making Lead or contribute to enterprise-wide clinical initiatives and cross-departmental projects Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Active or eligible Physician License in the state of Connecticut (Preferred) Minimum 5 years of clinical experience; administrative experience preferred but not required Experience or willingness to work with underserved populations Understanding of compliance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement in healthcare Demonstrated leadership or interest in managing teams and driving outcomes Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Proficiency with EHR systems and clinical data reporting Alignment with mission-driven, community-focused care values Commitment to
