Job Description

Medical Billing Supervisor OBGYN Group Of Eastern Connecticut South Windsor, CT 06074 The OBGYN Group of Eastern Connecticut is seeking full-time Billing Supervisor to provide oversite and management of all facets of the Billing Department. This position is responsible for directing and coordinating overall functions of the department including claims processing, revenue monitoring, and quality improvement initiatives. All candidates for consideration would need to have 2+ years of private specialty office preferably OBGYN experience for consideration. This position is full-time Monday through Friday. The company offers an extensive benefit package and a great working environment. This is not a remote position.

Essential Functions:
  • Performs overall revenue cycle management including: satisfying timely filing requirements and maximizing billing revenue and collections, and resolution of denied/rejected claims.
  • Submits claims via the Greenway Clearinghouse. Supervise submission by billing specialists.
  • Monitors reports to ensure clean claims submissions.
  • Monitors monthly aging reports and conduct follow-up on unpaid claims and take appropriate action to correct and re-bill for reimbursement.
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves system issues through direct contact with payors and software vendors.
  • Provides technical expertise to ensure accurate billing including billing for new services and staying informed of regulatory, compliance, and best practices for OBGYN billing.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains revenue cycle standard operating procedures.
  • Researches and maintain billing compliance and regulations, primarily Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Performs regular audits of daily billing reports to identify coding and billing errors. Work with staff to address; notify on-site management of problems and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Monitors A/R aging and payment reports monthly to identify trends and underpayments; investigate causes and take appropriate steps toward resolution using professional judgment.
  • Provides monthly updates of revenue cycle status including reports, metrics, and presentations. Works with Executive Director and Operations Manager as needed to accomplish.
  • Provides training as required to staff regarding: billing and other revenue cycle related tasks, standard operating procedures.
  • With other members of the management team, develop continuous process and priorities for quality improvement to improve revenue cycle outcomes.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, and other activities such as: reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as requested.

Experience/Requirements/Qualifications:

Performs all duties and responsibilities in an efficient, team-oriented manner. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently. Conducts self in a manner that reflects a positive representation of the company, and encourages others to do the same. Observes strict patient confidentiality. Must be able to communicate in a professional manner either by phone, e-mail or in person. Familiar with Windows-based products Experience with Greenway would be great but EMR experience is preferred Experience with CPT, ICD10 and HCPC codes. Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook e-mail and Internet access.
