Responsible for all aspects of operion of the laborory including preparion and maintenance of records and reports, analysis of testing methodologies, training, instrumention and compliance. Acts as a liaison to other departments of the medical center for the Immunohemology Department.
Duties Include:
Selects, performs, evalues, and monitors the performance of test procedures using manual and/or instrumental techniques in accordance with established protocols Recognizes and reacts to indicors of malfunction; loces and implements corrections Evalues the suitability of the specimen for analysis, requesting new specimen if determined to be unusable Serves as primary operor on new systems Conducts quality control procedures on equipment, reagents, and products and maintains proper records for quality control reports Calibres, standardizes, adjusts and maintains instruments Verifies correct instrument operion using established procedures and quality control checks and monitoring Performs reagent lot to lot validions and new lot quality controls crossover studies Performs bi-annual linearity and AMR studies Assists in writing procedures and other documents as directed Evalues the validity of da in relion to the test system and accepted assay procedures Assumes the responsibility to maintain operions including preventive maintenance and training of technologists. Oversight of the clinical training experiences of technical and professional level. Pay:

Lead Clinical Laborory Scientist, GS-12. Assignments. Ability to manage and coordine daily work activities and assignments in a section.(E)Ability to provide or coordine staff development and training. Ability to provide guidance and technical direction to a wide variety of individuals including physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff regarding technical aspects of testing, specimen requirements and results. Assignment. For all lead assignments, the individual must spend least 25% or more of their time performing lead duties over staff one grade level below. The Lead CLS communices the organizion’s stregic plan, mission, vision, and values. The Lead CLS identifies, distributes, balances work, coaches, and facilites with problem solving methods. The Lead CLS prepares reports and maintains records of work stus; resolves simple, informal complaints; reports performance, progress, and training needs of the team and on behavioral problems; and provides informion on promotions, reassignment, recognition of outstanding performance, and personnel needs. The Lead CLS is responsible for all aspects of operion in their area of specialty, including assignment of work responsibilities, workload management, and completion of assignments for staff or above the FPL as well as preparion and maintenance of records and reports, analysis of testing methodologies, training, instrumention, and compliance.
