Job Description

Jacksonville, FL 32205 Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Inpatient Care, this position is responsible for providing nursing staff for all of the Community Hospice Inpatient Centers by receiving and processing staffing requests for the Inpatient Department and maintaining an ongoing schedule for all clinical positions in each of our Inpatient Centers. All employees assigned to this job title must be willing and able to flex their work location within and between the various Community Hospice Inpatient Centers at any time.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assists with the coordination of identified staffing needs for the Inpatient Department. Staffing of each Inpatient unit per established staffing ratios or as otherwise instructed by the Director of Inpatient Care and/or designees. Assists with Inpatient staff flexing as indicated by census need among the Inpatient Centers. Prioritizes fulfillment of the staffing needs of Community Hospice with usage of regular Community Hospice staff. Schedules staff while minimizing overtime as authorized by the Director of Inpatient Care and/or the Patient Care Administrators (PCA) of each Inpatient Center. Solicits and tracks the availability of the Inpatient PRN staff and schedules accordingly to fill unmet staffing needs as well as maintain the PRN Resources Roster. Coordinates staffing needs not met by Community Hospice staff with CIC Staffing Coordinator. Completes staffing assignments by providing scheduled staff with accurate and thorough information, including directions to appropriate care setting. Appropriately notifies and documents all staffing needs met and not met to the appropriate designated Inpatient personnel. Compiles and provides daily productivity reports to the Director of Inpatient Care and the Inpatient PCA’s, and makes adjustments based on department needs. Communicates Inpatient bed availability to appropriate department on a timely basis. Receives and processes central requests for patient transfers to the Inpatient Centers and manages the Inpatient Waiting List data bank. Contacts patients/caregivers to confirm transfer information and answers questions as it relates to Inpatient services. Performs data entry, report recording, and clerical duties related to all Inpatient Department staffing coordination processes. All other duties as assigned.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

Current State of Florida Driver’s license with driving record acceptable to Community Hospice insurance carrier; reliable transportation.

Qualifications:
Education/Experience:

Any combination of education and experience that would provide required skills and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: Minimum of a High School Diploma. Intermediate to advanced computer skills, word processing experience with ability to type, file, and do general clerical work. Experience with reading medical terminology. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel experience is required. Healthcare industry experience/knowledge preferred. Furnish one or more active telephone numbers that enables management to contact employee should an unexpected change of work location be required.

Knowledge of:
