• Responsibilities
• Coordinate new patient appointments
• Coordinate patient referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations for referrals
• Ensure accurate coding of medical procedures and diagnoses (ICD-10, ICD-9)
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of managed care plans and insurance guidelines
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling patient information
• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance companies regarding referrals
• Experience
• Previous experience in a medical office setting
• Proficiency in ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems
• Strong understanding of medical coding practices
• Experience with insurance verification processes
• Knowledge of medical records management and referral procedures
